NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS - worth the effort?

Resolutions, to make or not to make . . .

This time of year the talk turns to new years resolutions. And each year there seem to be more and more nay-sayers of "ye ole new years resolution". We are told that most people have given up by sometime in March, so why bother. We are told that new years resolutions simply do not work.

True - they don't work.

New years resolutions don't work any more than a brand new, top of the line luxury car sitting in the driveway. They only work when someone gets behind the wheel, starts the engine and puts it in gear.
You may not be reading this at the start of the new year, but that's OK because you can (and we all do) make resolutions at anytime. So I want to give you some powerful tips on how to create effective resolutions and stick to them.

After you have made your resolution, create vivid, clear pictures of what you desire. See it strongly in your minds eye. Use tools to help you make this vision more real to you. Some of your tools may be:
  • A vision board
  • Affirmations
  • Journaling
  • Your mastermind team
Remember, we are creatures of imagination - everything we have ever created or accomplished, began in the imagination.

The next step is to create a plan of attack. Your plan may not have all the answers in place right away, but that is not your purpose. Your purpose is sitting down and saying; "These are the things that I can accomplish." And "This is what I will do on a daily, weekly, monthly, etc. basis towards achieving my goal."

From there you'll want to have a state of mind that will accommodate reaching your goals. Start off each day in a state of gratitude and thanksgiving. This is where it gets tricky for some; many people are not used to being thankful or grateful for what they (believe they) do not yet have.
But that is exactly the way it works. Everything begins at the quantum (energetic) level. You have to recognize that what you desire, already exists - otherwise you could not imagine it. The more you recognize that and are thankful for it; several things happen:
  1. You create and carry and energy that aligns with the energy of your desires, (remember, this is quantum science - not simply metaphysics).
  2. You put yourself in a frame of mind that facilitates taking appropriate action.
  3. You become more open to and see more clearly ideas, resources, solutions, etc. that help you co-create that which you desire.
The next step: Stay in the now moment. This does not mean that you cannot look ahead to the future. After all, the future is where we will see the physical reality of what is already present in the quantum reality. So looking ahead for planning and visioning purposes has its place. But to stay in the now moment is to recognize the existence of these things already.
Which takes us back to being grateful.

And finally, take it day by day. Much of the frustration and giving up comes about because we want it all now, and forget the most powerful principle to getting it all:
Do the little things, (as outlined above), day-by-day.

I want to wish you well in the upcoming new year. (Even if you're reading this in August). Anytime is the best time to begin again. Right now is the best moment to start fresh. Today is the first day of the best of your life.

Until next time,
Peace and richest blessings to you and yours,

Jack Roberts
